Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the physiological quality of seeds including the viability and vigor of upland rice and swamp rice varieties cultivated in lebak swamp land. Rice cultivation is carried out in the swampy land located in Desa Pelabuhan Dalam, Kecamatan Pemulutan, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra. The rice seeds produced in the lebak swamp area are then harvested, threshed, cleaned and sun dried and then tested for physiological quality at the Seed Science and Technology Laboratory at Indralaya. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) method, with 3 replications for each variety. Uses the established Rolled Paper Test (UKDd) method. Data analysis uses the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method, if the results show ed real difference then it will be further tested with a 5% LSD. Some upland rice varieties are Inpago Unsoed 1, Inpago 4, Inpago 5, Inpago 10, Inpago 8, Rindang 1, Inpago 12, Situ Patenggang, Rindang 2, Inpago 9 and swamp rice varieties are Inpara 8 and Inpara 9. Research has been carried out in Seed Science and Technology Laboratory of the Agronomy Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya in October 2019. The results showed that the best quality of rice seed cultivated in lebak swamp was Inpago 12. While the lowest seed quality was Rindang 2.
