Abstract

Because of the need for efficient energy application and the increasing impact of the renewable energy resources crisis, a device that can store energy in a certain form is needed so that no energy will be wasted. For example, by using a device that can store energy then can release it back like a flywheel. In hydroelectric power plants and micro hydro power plants flywheel can work because there is a heavy influence that can produce energy and release it again. The energy produced by the flywheel is rotational energy which can reduce the decrease in turbine rotation due to the decrease in water flow rate when flowing the turbine so that the turbine rotation does not experience a significant decrease. However, in this thesis the authors do it by installing a flywheel on the prototype pikohidro power plant and then varying the number of wheelwheels in this study using the amount of 8,10, and 12 with the aim to determine the results of each study through a predetermined tap and each - each uses a 220 volt 3 watt LED lamp load so that it can be seen the efficiency of each number of wheels, the difference in voltage and power generated when using a flywheel from each number of wheels and not. The greatest voltage results obtained when using a flywheel or not using a flywheel on the number of windmills 12 and a voltage of 180 volts, 0.017 Amperes with an efficiency of 44% compared to the number of other wheels due to the amount of water entering the blade gap increases so that the wheel turns faster and to not use the flywheel, the difference is only in the initial rotation, so that the smallest power and voltage in this study when the number of windmills 8 are 56 Volts, 0.016 Amperes and 0.763 Watt with an efficiency of 18%.
