Abstract

Penggunaan bahan bakar batubara akan menghasilkan fly ash dan bottom ash (FABA) yang berada pada ruang penangkapan pada PLTU yang dikategorikan sebagai limbah bahan berbahaya dan beracun (B3) yang akan menyebabkan dampak buruk terhadap lingkungan. Sebelum terjadi pencemaran lingkungan, sebaiknya dilakukan pemanfaatan atau pengolahan dengan ekstraksi silika (SiO2) yang banyak terkandung di dalam FABA. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan ekstraksi dengan menggunakan larutan NaOH 3M dan HCl 4N, 6N, 8N, dan 10N. Sebelum ekstraksi, dilakukan uji ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) terhadap sampel FABA, diperoleh kadar SiO2 sebesar 60,04% dan 73,49%. Massa silika hasil ekstraksi yang diperoleh dipengaruhi oleh variasi konsentrasi larutan HCl. Massa silika dari FA dari pengaruh larutan HCl 4N, 6N, 8N dan 10N sebesar 1,2003 g, 4,1969 g, 2,9292 g, dan 8,5509 g. Massa silika dari BA dari pengaruh larutan HCl 4N, 6N, 8N dan 10N sebesar 4,9557 g, 3,3471 g, 2,7245g, 2,7394 g. Setelah ekstraksi dilakukan uji XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) terhadap sampel silika, diperoleh kadar SiO2 dari FABA sebesar 97,87% dan 79,68%.
