Abstract

The purpose of this study are: (1) Describe the level of productivity of village irrigation rice in Lubuk Buntak, South Dempo District. (2) Describe the rice sold and rice consumed, as well as how much rice is left over during one growing season.(3) Analyzing the factors that influence the rice surplus in Lubuk Buntak, Dempo Selatan District.(4) Describe how the pattern of rice sales by rice farmers in Lubuk Buntak, South Dempo District. Site selection deliberately done. The research location is in Lubuk Buntak Village, South Dempo District. The research method used was a survey method. The sampling method used is the method of sampling Accidental Sampling using the Slovin formula, and a sample of 40 respondents. Data collected in this study are primary data and secondary data. The results showed that: (1) The average marketable rice surplus amounted to 682 kilograms per arable area per planting period with a percentage of 54.95 percent while the remaining 559 kilograms per arable area per planting period farmers allocated it in advance to meet consumption needs , with a percentage of 45.01 percent.(2) Factors that significantly influence are rice price, land area, total production, and the number of family members, while those that have no significant effect are the total income variable and 2 dummy variables of education level, and the number of dominant sexes.
