Abstract

Food sovereignty is a concept of fulfilling food through local production. Food sovereignty is a concept of fulfilling the right to food that is of good nutritional quality and culturally appropriate, produced with a sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural system. To realize food sovereignty, local wisdom is needed. Local wisdom is a knowledge that is typically possessed by a particular community or culture that has been developing for a long time due to close relations with the environment and natural resources. The objectives in this study are: (1) identifying local wisdom carried out by farmers in the management of lebak swamp in Bangsal Village, Pampangan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, (2) measuring the condition of food sovereignty in Bangsal Village, Pampangan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, (3) analyze the relevance of local wisdom with efforts to achieve sustainable food sovereignty in Bangsal Village, Pampangan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. This research was conducted in Bangsal Village, Pampangan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency in February 2020. The research method used in this research was exploratory descriptive. Data collection methods used are primary data and secondary data. Based on the results of the analysis, the management of lebak marsh in Bangsal Village consists of three buffaloes, swamp fish development, and rice cultivation. In buffalo cattle farmers apply local wisdom that is by using the kalang or shepherd system freely on available riparian wetlands, in the development of swamp fish farmers apply local wisdom using a capture fisheries system or beje system. Whereas paddy cultivation consists of several stages, namely: a) tillage, with local wisdom, namely rewang and perarian systems, b) seeding, with local wisdom, namely using their own seeds from the harvest, c) planting, with local wisdom i.e. by transplanting, stocking, or direct planting by planting, d) fertilizing, using local wisdom, ie using weeds or wild plants, e) maintaining, with local wisdom, using scarecrow and plastic surrounding the map, f) harvest, with local wisdom, namely mutual cooperation or ngarit together, and g) post-harvest with local wisdom, namely selling the harvest directly or storing it for yourself. The results of the analysis for food sovereignty in Bangsal Village based on 7 indicators obtained an average score of 54.60 which is included in the high criteria. There is significant relevance between local wisdom and efforts to realize sustainable food sovereignty in Bangsal Village.
