Abstract

The objectives of this study are (1) Analyzing the population perceptions of farmers professions after the conversion of agricultural land into coal mining, (2) the factors that influence the perception of the community towards the profession of farmers after land. This research was conducted in Merapi Village Merapi Barat Subdistrict, in October 2019. The research method was survey method. The data collected consists of primary data and secondary data. Based on the results of the study (1) The perception of the population of the peasant profession is at a high criterion with an average total score of 21.73, (2) Internal factors that significantly affect the perception of the population are the level of education and experience of the profession of farmers, while external factors that influence the perception of the population of the profession of farmers are the influence of the natural environment, ownership status of agricultural land and the level of land fertility.
