Abstract

This research is entitled Development of Poetry and songs in Widya Musi Kindergarten Palembang. The research subjects were poetry and songs with the object of research for children aged (5-6) years in kindergarten. The research was conducted using the Rowntree development model and the Tessmer Formative evaluation model. The stages of developing Rowntree consist of three stages, namely the planning stage, the development stage, and the evaluation phase. The evaluation phase consists of the stages of self evaluation, expert review, one to one evaluation, and small group evaluation. Data collection techniques use walkthroughs, interviews and observations. Data was analyzed using a Likert scale validation sheet. The results showed that the validity of the material was 87 with a very valid category because it met the validity criteria. The results of the study also showed that the validity of the media was 87 with a very valid category because it met the validity criteria. From the results of material validation and media validation, the product has a validity value of 87 with a very valid category. In one to one evaluation involving three children the score is 94% with a very practical category. In the small group evaluation phase involving nine children the score was 95% with a very practical category because it met the practicality criteria. From all the stages that have been done, it can be concluded that poetry and children's songs based on the homeland theme for children aged 5-6 years are declared valid and practical.
