Abstract

The physical properties of the soil is one of the properties that plays a very important role for the soil to be able for become a planting medium that meets the requirements for growth and development. Some physical properties such as texture, soil hardness, content weight, total pore space and soil moisture content. Potato plants are plants that need soil with loose structure in order to produce optimal tubers. The purpose of this study is to examine the interaction between the combination of rice husk charcoal and chicken manure on its effect on the physical properties of the soil and potato plants. This study used a factorial randomized block design method with the first factor of husk charcoal (0 and 3) tons ha-1 and the second factor of chicken manure (0.5.10) tons ha-1 and repeated 3 times. The results of this study indicate that the combination of rice husk charcoal and chicken manure has no significant effect on soil hardness, total density, total pore space, water content, plant height, number of tubers, tuber weight and tuber volume. The provision of 3 tons ha-1 of husk charcoal and 10 tons ha-1 chicken manure tends to give better yields than the dosage below.
