Abstract
ANGGRA SUPROBO. Modification of Kemplang Crackers Type Drying Tools using Solar Panel as a Fan Energy Movement. (ENDO ARGO KUNCORO and FARRY APRILIANO HASKARI) This study aims to apply solar panels as power plants to move the fan on the kemplang cracker dryer. The research was conducted at the Workshop of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya Indralaya University in April 2019. The research method used in this study was experimental. This research consists of three stages: preparation and assembly of polycrystalline solar panels; circuit testing; and data collection. Data processing is presented in the form of graphs and tables. Observation parameters include sunlight intensity, solar panel power, fill factor, solar panel efficiency and drying rate. The power generated by polycrystalline solar panels to drive the fan ranges from 5.45 watts to 64.62 watts which results in a fan rotation of 1.1 m / s to 3.8 m / s. The highest efficiency value produced by polycrystalline solar panels was 9.16% with the intensity of sunlight at 892.7 W / m2. The fastest drying process of kemplang crackers was produced in the second sample experiment. The second sample within 8 hours had reached a moisture content of 14%. The fastest drying rate was generated in the second sample experiment on rack 1 for 8 hours of drying time of 3.15%.
