Abstract

The research objective was to learn the financial appropriateness of solar panel utility as water pump power source The research was conducted from February to May 2019 at Workshop and Laboratory of Farm Machinery, Department of Agricultural Technology, Sriwijaya University. The methods used in this research were financial analysis that include cost and the investment (NPV, Net B/C and BEP) analysis. The result showed that the average total cost per year was Rp 3.133.220,00. NPV value was Rp -Rp 8.318.408,00 representing the benefits value over the business life of 5 years. The B/C ratio calculation result was 0,21. Break-even point (BEP) cost can be refunded if the cost of the water was Rp 11.447,00/M3 and 1291,517 M3 in it’s volume. The result of this research showed that solar water pump system wasn’t feasible.
