Abstract
Wind energy can be converted into electrical energy using the wind energy Convertion System (WECS). The most important component in WECS is generators. The type of generators that are often used are permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSG). This type of Generator has the advantage of being able to spin at low speeds. Generator performance testing is indispensable to see how optimally a wind turbine can be used where the turbine swivel speed continues to increase and how much the efficiency of generator itself. This research is doing development by using variables with wind speeds ranging from 3.5 m/s to 5 m/s and variations of loads are LED lamps with 9 watts , 15 watts and 24 watts. The result of the test is the highest output power generated during the unloaded state of 19.454 Watt. While the minimum value is 0.323 watts when the circuit is loaded 24 watts. The maximum generator efficiency value is 68.3% when the condition is not loaded while the minimum efficiency is 1.23% when the load condition is worth 24 watts.
