Abstract

Electricity has a very important role in daily life. Therefore people often use single-phase induction motors for household appliances. In its use, problems do not often occur, such as excessive heat causing damage to the motor and can shorten the life of the electrical equipment. To find out more temperature in electrical equipment that uses single phase induction motors, it is necessary to conduct motor research when loaded with a pulley belt transmission and motor research when not loaded. To get the temperature more than the measurement results are calculated using the resistance method on a single phase induction motor. In this study carried out for 60 minutes, from the result of measurements using a thermo gun the temperature results when loding is greater that is 64,3°c compared to when not loaded is 62,1°c. The longer the motor’s working time, the greater the temperature produced. Keywords : single phase induction motor, temperature, when motor overloaded, belt and pulley.
