Abstract

The level of crop production can be caused by various things, including factors such as pests and diseases. The biggest obstacle of plant diseases in increasing oil palm production is caused by Ganoderma boninense which causes basal stem rot disease. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to control disease based on biological control. This study aims to determine the level of ability of the three types of Trichoderma in the process of antagonism to Ganoderma in-vitro. This research was carried out in the nematology laboratory and greenhouse majoring in pests and plant diseases, faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University; PT. Sampoerna Agro laboratory. This study uses 4 stages of the activity method by culturing the Ganoderma inoculum on a Ganoderma Selective Medium (GSM) that its growth diameter is observed; test the growth of Ganoderma boninense diameter with treatment three types of Trichoderma; the percentage of the inhibitory test from 3 types Trichoderma and plant growth which treated with Ganoderma. The results showed that the average growth of Ganoderma isolates in the gsm medium ranged from 11,4 mm to 83,5 mm. The growth of Ganoderma isolates on the gsm medium was relatively stagnant and was not significant on the 11th to the 14th day of observation; the observation from diameter of growth inhibition Ganoderma colonies shows Th and Tx treatment has small diameter; the percentage of inhibition test shows that Th and Tx treatments have high inhibitory ability and both have similar virulence; the observation of the plant growth which treated with Ganoderma inoculums oil palm midrib stick showed that he plants can still grow. Symptoms in plants have not been seen in the Ganoderma inoculum treated for 2 months observation.
