Abstract

Background: Weight growth in the age of 0-36 months is the fastest growth period also known as golden age. The study aimed to describe weight growth and feeding parental style style in children under 3 years old resided around working area of Kampus Community Health Center. Methodology: We conducted a cross sectional study from May to August 2016. Subject were children under 3 years old and their mothers. Body weight prior study was obtained from Health card (KMS). Primary data were current weight of children under 3 years old and interview result of their mothers. Results: As many as 7% (7/101) children under 3 years have abnormal weight growth. Consist of 5 toddlers with over weight growth and 2 toddlers with under weight growth. All of children under 3 years old who had over weight growth are in the group of age 12-24 month and all of children under 3 years old with under weight growth are in the group of age 24-36 month. Consist of 4 from 5 children under 3 years old with over weight growth based of feeding is classified as controlling style. Conclusion: There are 7 children under 3 years with abnormal growth. Feeding mode controlling style in generally obtained in children under 3 years old with over weight growth.
