Abstract

ABSTRACT DESI ARIANTI. 0805181621016. Spesies Rarity Status, Composition and Biodiversity of Fish from Bottom Gill Net Discard Captured in the Coastal Waters of Banyuasin, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province (Supervisors: Dr. Fauziyah, S.Pi and Fitri Agustriani, S.Pi, M.Sc). Bottom gill net fishing in the Banyuasin coastal waters is one of the fishing activities in maintaining sustainable fish resources. Discarded catches provide information on fish composition and biodiversity. This study aims to identify the catch species that are thrown away. The study was conducted in November 2019. Data collection was carried out by following fishing lines. The data used is the result of measurement of weight length per individual fish disposed of. The results of the composition of the number 687 per individual, weight composition of 23.49 kg. The catches disposed of 19 species with the highest relative abundance (RA) of 41% and the highest frequency frequency (Fi) of 100%. The average value of the diversity index is moderate (H '= 1,219), low evenness index (E' = 0.414) and low dominance index (D = 0.411). The condition shows stable.
