Abstract

This study is entitled Implementation of Education and Training for Prospective Principals in the Regional Human Resources Development Agency of the Province of South Sumatra. This research is motivated by the phenomenon of weak competencies possessed by principals. Seeing this phenomenon, the human resource development agency in the province of South Sumatra has the mandate to carry out the preparation, development, and empowerment of school principals in 2017, especially at the academic selection stage, according to Minister of National Education Regulation Number 28 of 2010 concerning the assignment of teachers as principals. But in its implementation there are still several obstacles such as lack of human resources, namely the speaker (widyaiswara) in the field of general and functional technical development and inadequate facilities and infrastructure available to the human resource development body in the province of South Sumatra. This study uses the theory of the education and training process proposed by Hasibuan. The purpose of this study was to see the level of success of the implementation of education and training of prospective school principals in the human resource development body in the province of South Sumatra using several dimensions, namely targets, curriculum, facilities, participants, presenters and evaluations. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of education and training of prospective school principals in the human resource development body in the province of South Sumatra is running well and in accordance with the target.
