Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of this research is to investigate the influence of group guidance services with discussion techniques towards assertive behavior ability on students of Senior State High School 1 South Indralaya. This research is experimental research. The methodology of data collection use Linkert assertive behavior ability model, from 30 students which there were 8 students of twelve grade had been chosen as the sample data by purposive sampling technique. The data analysis technique used was the Wilcoxon test. Based on the results obtained, the mean score of students who were the subjects of the research have a significant improvement between before and after being given the treatment, while the change in scores obtained before being given treatment obtained an average value of 144.2 (pre-test) in the low category, becoming 236, 5 (post-test) in high category. From the results of the data analysis test using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test statistical analysis technique, the Z score of -2,521 can be seen that the probability number Asmyp. Sig. (2-tailed) ability to behave assertively in students in their ability to behave assertively at 0.012 or probability under alpha (0.012 <0.05). The results of this research, there is an influence and there is an increase in assertive behavior ability of students after participating in group counseling services.
