Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of group guidance in reducing truant behavior in class XI students in SMA N 1 Indralaya Selatan. This research uses an experimental method with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of class XI majoring in social studies, and the sample used was 10 students of class XI IPS who experienced truant behavior. Researchers used a purposive sampling technique in taking this sample. Based on the BK teacher's recommendations and absent data reports from the picket teacher. Data collection techniques in this study used the truant behavior questionnaire, based on the indicators of truant behavior, namely feeling ill health, low school interest, low self motivation, family environment, school environment, park environment. Data analysis techniques in the study were obtained tcount = 12.51 and ttable in a significant level of 5% namely ttable = 1.833 so that it can be concluded tcount> ttable then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, received namely group guidance services had an effect in reducing truant behavior in class XI students in South Indralaya 1 High School.
