Abstract
The continuous use of inorganic inputs in agriculture, especially oil palm plantations, has an adverse impact on the environment, so it is hoped that alternatives can reduce these inorganic inputs to more environmentally friendly inputs. Palm oil mills produce decanter solid as a byproduct which is organic solid waste from palm oil mills. This study aims to determine nutrient content, aggregate stability and to analyze the bacterial population and pH value of the media for oil palm growth with different soil and decanter solid ratios so as to obtain a good quality composition of planting media for the oil palm prenursery stage in terms of bacterial population. pH and also the nutrient content of macro and micro planting media. This research was conducted from October 2019 - March 2020. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatment levels and each experimental unit was repeated 4 times. The results showed that the addition of a solid decanter to the composition of the growing media could increase the number of bacterial populations, pH value, improve aggregates and also provide sufficient nutrient content. The best composition in increasing bacterial population, pH value, improving the aggregate system and also increasing nutrient content is by mixing 40% solid decanter and 60% soil with an incubation time of 45 days.
