Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitan bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apakah yang menyebabkan larangan menikah antara laki-laki dari Desa Menanti dengan perempuan dari Desa Suban Baru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Lokasi penelitian adalah Desa Menanti dan Desa Suban Baru Kecamatan Kelekar Kabupaten Muara Enim, dengan subjek yaitu ketua adat desa Menanti dan desa Suban Baru, laki-laki dari desa Menanti dan perempuan dari desa Suban Baru. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan trianggulasi data, dan memberchek. Teknik analisis data meliputi pengumpulan data, penyajian data, dan pengambilan simpulan atau verifikasi. Teori yang digunakan untuk mengkaji penelitian adalah teori tindakan sosial Max Weber. Hasil penelitian yaitu faktor-faktor penyebab larangan menikah (1) faktor sejarah, yaitu adanya asal-usul larangan menikah antara desa Menanti dengan desa Suban Baru (2) faktor keluarga, yaitu adanya larangan dari orang tua (3) faktor mitos, yaitu masih tingginya kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap mitos dari larangan menikah dan (4) faktor sanksi dari masyarakat, yaitu adanya sanksi yang diterima jika melanggar larangan. Kata Kunci : Larangan Menikah, Tindakan Sosial ABSTRACT The study aims to determine factors are causing the prohibition of marriage between men from Menanti Village and women from Suban Baru Village. This study used qualitative research methods. The research locations were Menanti Village and Suban Baru Village, Kelekar Sub-District, Muara Enim District, with the subjects being the traditional leaders of Menanti and Suban Baru villages, men from Menanti village and women from Suban Baru village. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. Test the validity of the data using triangulation of data, and checking. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The theory used to study research is Max Weber's theory of social action. The results of the study are factors that cause the prohibition of marriage (1) historical factors, namely the origin of the prohibition of marriage between Menanti village and Suban Baru village (2) family factors, namely the prohibition of parents (3) myth factor, which is still high public trust in the myth of the prohibition of marriage and (4) factors of sanctions from the community, namely the sanctions received if they violate the prohibition.
