Abstract

Adolescence is a very important period in human development. Entering adolescence, humans begin to search for self-identity in order to prepare themselves towards adulthood. Besides being beneficial for adolescent self-development, leisure time activities are one way to prevent adolescents from the bad influences that are the source of juvenile delinquency problems such as brawl, drug use and promiscuity.There is no special place for teenagers to be able to create and explore their potential, some of the existing facilities are still separated and their presence is still inadequate in providing infrastructure to accommodate youth activities according to their talents and interests, as well as facilities for communities that in demand. Planning and Design of Youth Center located in Jakabaring, Palembang with the approach of Contemporary Architecture design is expected to be able to accommodate teenage activities according to the interests and talents of Indonesian youth, especially South Sumatra. So that making the Youth Arena can be a representative facility in developing and facilitating the creativity of Palembang youth.
