Abstract

This research is a research and development that aims to produce a printed module-based learning media on Technique of Casting courses in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program at Sriwijaya University. Development is carried out by adapting the steps of module development by Purwanto et al. through 4 stages, namely 1) the planning stage 2) the writing phase 3) the review, trial, and revision stages 4) the finalization and printing stages. The subjects of this research were students of Mechanical Engineering Education 2018 generation. Data was collected through the results of filling out the validation questionnaire by experts and the results of filling out the questionnaire for the assessment of module practicability. The results showed that the validity of the material was 80.77% with a valid category and the validity of the media was 79.17% with a valid category. The value of practicability in face-to-face trials in small groups is 69.17% with the practical category, and in the field trials is 89.17% with a very practical category. Thus, according to the results that have been obtained from material validation, media validation, face-to-face trials in small groups, and field trials show that the Foundry Technology Module developed is valid and practical.
