Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the snowball throwing learning model can improve the activeness and learning outcomes of grade IV students of SD Negeri 178 Palembang on my hero theme. This research is a classroom action research with the applied model is the snowball throwing learning model. The research subjects were grade IV students of SD Negeri 178 Palembang, totaling 30 students. While the observed and measured variants are the activeness and learning outcomes of students. The data collection techniques of this study used tests, observations and documentation. Data analysis was carried out with tests and student activeness data. Based on the results of the study showed that: (1) the application of the snowball throwing learning model was proven to be able to increase the activity of grade IV students of SD Negeri 178 Palembang with my hero theme. This can be seen from the increase in each cycle increase, cycle I is 64.14, cycle II is 72.89 and cycle III is 85.75. (2) the application of learning using the snowball throwing learning model can improve the learning outcomes of grade IV students of SD Negeri 178 Palembang on my hero theme. This can be seen in the cycle of the number of students who have completed learning is 56.66, cycle II is 76.67 and cycle III is 86,66.
