Abstract

This researh is about "Social Harmony in Hoktong Housing Complex Sub-district of Plaju Palembang". Problem in this research is how the society effort in create a harmony social and driving factors that social harmony formed. Method in this research using qualitative as research methode. In this research, data were collected by observation, interviews, and documentation. This research using concept of social harmony and using theory of social relation from Spradley and McCurdy. Result of this research put forward that in create social harmony efforts, characterized by presence of teamwork, accommudation, acculturation and asimilation. In hoktong housing complex, trible of komering, java and chinese ethnic commited a cooperation in religion, social and culture. Self-awareness, interaction process, tolerance and accommudation that exist became a proponent that made harmony social possible.
