Abstract

This research is a correlation study which aims to find out whether there is a correlation between assertive behavior and self-confidence in SMA Negeri 15 Palembang. This study used a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The instruments in this study used the scale of assertive behavior and the scale of self-confidence. The population in this study were all students of class XI Science totalling 148 students and the sample in this study amounted to 60 students using Random Sampling Techniques. Data analysis in this study used the Product Moment Correlation formula with the help of SPSS version 22. The results of descriptive data analysis of assertive behavior showed that theresultwas 117.32 with a percentage of 65% and the result of descriptive self-confidence was 91.72 with a percentage of 63%. The correlation coefficient in this study amounted to r = 0.801 which showed that assertive behavior with self-confidence has a positive correlation with a significance level of 0.05 with a category that has a very strong correlation.
