Abstract

The title of this research is 'The Greeting System in Besemah Language and Its Implications in Regional Language Learning'. In general case, this study aims to describe the system of greeting the Besemah language in the Besemah community. This research especially describes greetings in the family, community, religion, official greetings, and for strangers. This case discussed about how is the system of greeting the Besemah language in the Besemah community ? The methods which used in this research is a descriptive and reflective-introspective method with data sources in the form of questionnaires that have been given to informants who are speakers of Besemah language. The technique of this methods used is fishing techniques with observation, note and recording. The results of this research describes the greeting system in Besemah language consisting of (1) greeting system in family (relatives) and (2) greeting system in the community (community). he greeting system in the family (relatives) is divided into (1) the greeting system in the family (relatives) of the blood, (2) the greeting system in the semenda family (3) the greeting system, and (4) the family greeting system (relatives ) in especially situations. The greeting system in the community (community greeting) is divided into (1) the system of community greetings in the official situation and (2) the system of community greetings in informal situations. The results of this research is the inventory and documentation of the Besemah language greeting system. The results of this research might be used as a reference of using of greetings in the language of Besemah in the Besemah community, especially in the research area, namely Jarai District, Pajar Bulan District and Kota Agung District, Lahat Regency and South Dempo District, Pagar Alam City.
