Abstract

Increasing of the needs of human to cooling device is significant enough. Because of cooling device’s size is relatively big and hardly brings to everywhere. In addition, cooling device has been used a dangerous chemical for human health. In this research, portable cooling using thermoelectric cooler will make as an alternative cooling device. Thermoelectric cooler is used as a main chemical in this device. In addition, this cooling device use a heatsink and fan to dispense thermal on hot side in thermoelectric cooler. In addition, this cooling device use Arduino as a main control in device. Arduino can control the minimum temperature is 20°C, also arduino control relay to automatically turn off the device had the device already reach the minimum temperature, Arduino also can display the temperature in LCD. The test use load variation 0.32 liters, 0.64 liters, 0.96 liters, and 1.28 liters. Based on this test, the load variations will directly proportional with time to reach the minimum temperature 20°C which in 0.32 liters will take time 1512 seconds and in 1.28 liters will take time 6317 seconds to reach the minimum temperature. While, load variations will directly proportional with the efficiency this prototipe cooling device. In 0.32 liters the efficiency of this cooling device reach 6.5% and in 1.28 liters the efficiency of this cooling device rach 9.6%. Kata kunci: Thermoelectric Cooler, portable cooling, Arduino
