Abstract

Development activities and shipping at the Port of Tanjung Priok is very high and need tidal information to support the planning of port development, planning of ship entry and exit for loading and unloading of commodity at the port and the interests of shipping safety in the ocean of Tanjung Priok, Jakarta. One alternative to obtaining tidal data is to use the TPXO 7.1 model that can model the tides in the world's marine waters and provide the amplitude values and phase values of the tides in a location. This study aims to compare the observation results of tidal in the field with prediction model TPXO 7.1 resulting from software Tide Model Driver (TMD). This research was conducted in March 2018. The result of analysis was obtained by type of tide from model prediction data of TPXO 7.1 and direct observation data both have mixed tide, prevailing Semidiurnal. Tidal data accuracy model TPXO 7.1 has a small error rate (RMS error of 0.14) and has a high correlation (correlation of 0.73) so that data can be trusted.
