Abstract
Data from the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Health in 2019 shows that the use of MKJP contraception in South Sumatra is still below the national standard (15.76%) compared to the use of non-MKJP contraception, while injecting contraceptive users reach 71.65%. Coverage of family planning acceptors in the working area of 4 Ulu Public Health Center shows an increase in injecting contraceptive users each year. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the choice of injection contraception in family planning acceptors in the working area of 4 Ulu Public Health Center Palembang. This research uses quantitative methods with crosssectional design. The sampling technique in this study is Simple Random Sampling with a total of 125 respondents who are active KB participants in the Working Area of 4 Ulu Public Health Center Palembang. Data analysis in this study was univariate and bivariate analysis with chi square statistical tests. The results of this study showed that 61.6% of family planning acceptors chose to use injection contraception. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that the variable age (p = 0.39) (PR = 1.397) (CI = 1.024-1.907), parity (p = 0.008) (PR = 1.515) (CI = 1.119-2.052), income (p = 0.006) (PR = 1.603) (CI = 1.124-2.287), distance to family planning services (p = 0.027) (PR = 1.704) (1.005-2.888), perceived cost (p = 0.033) (PR = 1.484) (CI = 1,017-2,165), perceived side effects (p = 0.022) (PR = 1.433) (CI = 1.063-1.931), the role of health workers (p = 0.032) (PR = 1.424) (CI = 1.032-1.964) associated with contraceptive choice injection. Meanwhile, the knowledge variable (p = 0.928) (PR = 0.938) (CI = 0.657-1.339), education (p = 0.875) (PR = 0.932) (CI = 0.666-1.305), the use of the JKN card (p = 0.114) (PR = 1.353) (CI = 1.031-1.775) did not correlate with the choice of injection contraception.
