Abstract

This study aims to determine the number of tools and machinery needed in PagarAlam City and the investment costs needed to increase rice production in PagarAlam City, South Sumatra Province. This research was conducted in September 2019 until November 2019 at the City of PagarAlam Agriculture Office, UPTD Agriculture Office, BPP Office (Service and Extension Agency), GAPOKTAN (Joint Farmers Group) and UPJA (Alsintan Service Unit) in PagarAlam City, South Sumatera Province. This research uses descriptive method with presentation in the form of tabulation. The parameters used in this study are the development of the number of agricultural tools and machinery, the level of sufficient agricultural machinery and investment costs. The results showed the adequacy level of 4-wheel tractors and rice grinding machines that is 400% and 592.3% or four-wheel tractors and rice grinding machines are included in more categories and the tool can be diverted to deficient districts. The level of adequacy that is included in the category of lack of 2-wheeled tractor, transplanter, combine harvester and power threser with a percentage that is 57%, 87%, 3% and 0% or the amount needed to meet the shortage of the device is 234 units, 15 units, 156 units and 202 units.
