Abstract

Rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) is a very important commodity in Indonesia. Rubber becomes very close to farmers because of its easy nature in cultivation and processing and provides direct economic value for farmers and also one of the business sectors in agriculture which has an important role for the economy. The purpose of this study is as follows comparing the value of achievement consisting of income, purchasing power, and the quality of printed rubber and the characteristics of rubber farmers as a material for rubber farmers' decision making to participate or not participate in the activities of the guided farmer groups. Analyzing the factors of performance value of rubber farming that affect the decision of farmers to join or not participate in the activities of farmer groups in Lalang Sembawa Village Sembawa District Banyuasin Regency. This research was conducted in February 2020. The method used in this study is to use the case study method. Sample farmers for example using the census method with a sample of 20 farmers who joined the group, and 20 farmers who did not join the group. As for the results of this study are (1) there is a difference in purchasing power between farmers who join the group and farmers who do not join the target farmers group by 0,02 < 0,05. Then, there is a difference in thickness quality between farmers who joined the group and farmers who did not join the target farmers group by 0,00 < 0,05. (2) with a 95 percent confidence level, there is no influence between the area of land, age, length of education, length of farming, number of family members and peasant achievement values. While income influences the achievement value of farmers.
