Abstract

The objectives of this research are: 1) know the level of perception of smallholder farmers to oil palm rejuvenation in Air Talas Village, 2) analyse the income level of oil palm farming and its contribution to total income of smallholders households in Air Talas Village, 3) analyze the relationship between farmers ' level of self-perception for rejuvenation with the income level of oil palm farming and the total income of smallholders ' household in The selection of research site is done intentionally (purposive) in consideration that the village and Sub-district is an area that has a plantation land of the people of palm oil and has exceeded the maximum economic age of 30-33 years will be doing rejuvenation (replanting). Sample withdrawal is done by simple random sampling by taking 30 farmers from a total of 223 smallholders who will perform oil palm rejuvenation. The results showed that, the level of perception of smallholders to oil palm rejuvenation in the water village of Talas is in good criteria with the total score of 5 indicators (input, financial, market, technology and institutional) of 53.77. Then the income is known smallholders oil palm farming, namely Rp 3.437.562/Lg/mo or Rp 832.239/Ha/month. Then the analysis of the relationship rank spearmen is known that the level of perception of farmers on rejuvenation has a significant link to the income of oil palm farming (0.260 < 0.306) with the value of low relationship strength and unidirectional (212).
