Abstract
Unhealthy livestyles increase the formation of free radicals which can cause chain reactions with cell-forming macromolecules. Antioxidants are needed to stabilize free radicals and avoid excessive oxidative reactions in the body. Laurentia longiflora (L.) Petern is able to produce antioxidant compound. Using plants as a producer of antioxidant compounds need a lot of biomass. That’s why endophytic fungi are used which are able to produce the same metabolite compounds as host plants with a short life cycle, so it is more efficient. This research was conducted in November 2019 until April 2020. 6 fungal isolates resulting from the isolation and purification of Katarak plants, cultivation and extraction to obtain secondary metabolites, qualitative test of antioxidant compound extracts of endophytic secondary metabolites using TLC, after quantitative testing has a very strong antioxidant activity on the isolates DK1JI and DK7JI with IC50 28.50 μg/mL and 34.09 μg/mL. DK1JI isolates were identified as Cladosporium sp. and able to produce secondary metabolites that contain alkaloids, flavonoids, and terpenoids. DK7JI isolates were identified as Aureobasidium sp. and capable of producing secondary metabolites containing terpenoids and tannins.
