Abstract

Stunting is a matter of chronic malnutrition that caused by a lack of nutrition intake in a long time and has the effect of distruption brain development and intelligence of children in physical growth, metabolism in the body, so that it can decrease cognitive abilities and cause other infectious diseases. This study aims to analyze the factor related to stunting of prevention in children 24-59 month. This study used cross-sectional study design. The sample of these are mothers who have doddlers aged 24-59 months who are chosen based on accidental sampling method as many 136 samples. The analysis bivariate with test chi-square and multivariate multiple logistic regression analysis. Prevalensi stunting in children aged 24-59 months by 57.4%. The analysis bivariate result show that behavioral variables before of stunting prevention are related with stunting prevention behavior (p-value = 0,000) obtained 87.5% has bad behavior and does not support by stunting prevention behavior. The result of multivariate analysis showed that mothers who did not support behavior of stunting prevention is 7,990 times more likely to experience stunting compared to mothers who support stunting prevention behavior (95% CI 3,073 – 21,024) after being controlled by education and socioeconomic level variables. Past behavior before the countermeasures has a effect great effect on stunting prevention behavior in children aged 24-59 months it’s important to edication related to stunting prevention through viewing return the behavior before that respondent did and by doing handling early by monitoring the growth and child development to prevent stunting.
