Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of watering interval and volume on the gowth and yield of Red Romaine red lettuce variety. The study was conducted in Lorong Cendana, Kalidoni District, Palembang City. Start from February 2020 until May 2020. The study used the red Romaine red lettuce variety. This research used factorial randomized block design. Consisted of two factors, namely watering interval and watering volume. Watering interval consisted of P1 = 2 days, P2 = 4 days and P3 = 6 days. Watering volume consisted of V1 = 500 ml / plant, V2 = 750 ml / plant, V3 = 1000 ml / plant and V4 = 1250 ml / plant. The observed variables included root fresh weight, leaf fresh weight, fresh stem weight, fresh fraction weight, root length, total leaf area, average leaf area, number of leaves, and soil moisture. The research treatment had a very significant effect on the average leaf area at the age of 70 HST and significantly affected the total leaf area at the age of 70 HST. Watering interval once every 6 days and watering volume of 500 ml can increase the total leaf area.
