Abstract

Hidayat chicken slaughterhouse (HDT) is one of the suppliers of broiler chicken business in Palembang. The route taken by the vehicle driver in the distribution of broilers is still random, usually based on the driver's intuition so sometimes the total distance, the total cost, and travel time are not optimal. In this study HDT suppliers served 10 restaurants by L300 pickup cars, 5 restaurants by Honda Vario, and 5 restaurants by Honda Revo. The purpose of this study is to optimize the distribution of broilers to get the total mileage, total cost and optimal travel time using the Nearest Neighbor method. Based on the calculation results obtained the total distance of the distribution of broilers by three vehicles using the Nearest Neighbor method obtained 88.6 km with savings of 53.8 km or a percentage of 37.8%, the cost of distribution of broilers using the Nearest Neighbor method of Rp.265,425 with savings in the amount of Rp. 30,080 or a percentage of 10.2%, and service time using the Nearest Neighbor method of 4.62 hours with a time savings of 1.3 hours or a percentage of 22%.
