Abstract

Every company that carries out work at an altitude both above ground level and above water level which has different heights, must meet the occupational health and safety requirements, one of which is working at altitude procedures. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of working procedures at an altitude at PT. Sriwidjaja Palembang Fertilizer. This research is a qualitative study, using a purposive sampling method consisting of two key informants and eight ordinary informants. The method of gathering information is done by in-depth interviews, observation and document review. The results of the study of the implementation of working procedures at altitude have not fully been in accordance with the working procedures at height that have been set by the company in the SMK3 Document on Work Instructions working at altitude No. 3 SMK3 087, so that adjustments need to be made starting from the techniques and ways of falling protection, equipment management, security of the work area, preparedness and emergency response. In addition, the implementation of socialization and training on working at heights has not been done thoroughly so that there is a lack of understanding and implementation of work procedures at heights on the ground. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of working procedures at altitude at PT. Palembang Sriwidjaja Fertilizer has not been fully implemented in accordance with existing procedures and regulations. Consistency on the application of working procedures at height is very much needed, then completing equipment components working at height, conducting socialization, inspection, and training for workers involved to increase understanding and optimize the application of working procedures at heights at PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang.
