Jefri.zain8@gmail.com Since 1800, many horse sports are found in Indonesia brought by the European continent and preserved by the local culture or kingdom, formerly scattered as many as 58 points in the country, making horse riding a local community or known as the People's Party. While in West Sumatra, specifically The city of Padang Panjang has a long story between tradition and horse sport and started in the national stage in 1918 in banca laweh as a national equestrian center so far the community made this activity as Alek Nagari. While in the international world, Equestrian Sports is the only official international Olympic sport in the world under the IFHA (International federation horse Authority), FEI (federation Equestrian International) and FIP (federation International Polo) which have the unique need for collaboration between humans and animals both emotional and ability as an athlete. Behind the liveliness of this activity, it is very unfortunate that horse riding activities are seen to be skewed both in terms of gambling and the high costs required so that these activities are only carried out by certain circles and times and lack of attention as well as in terms of infrastructure and sports facilities, sports facilities and infrastructure of sports buildings become an important point to knit-preserve culture, customs, and habits so that they can accommodate a lot of horse riding activities in the country become an attraction for both the perpetrators of activities (athletes, official and others) as well as connoisseurs of activities (spectators, visitors to special observer tourists and local communities) , good infrastructure in equestrian sports activities so as to be able to develop other sectors as a solution as well as a catalyst for the progress of the city of the mountains, especially as a city of Islamic education, sports and equestrian tourism in Padang Panjang. The infrastructure of the equestrian sport center adopts the theme of sport architecture that remains sporty in the mountainous area raising the contextual concept of using the proportions, layout and style of local Minangkabau architecture with various approaches that support the main concepts. Based on the typology of sports buildings in the form of a mix with Minangkabau architecture makes a typology of new sports architecture in the country that is insightful and environmentally friendly. design concepts can be used to strengthen elements as well as reminders of the momentum of tradition, natural sports and time to remind the past, knit the present and prepare for the future in various aspects of equestrian sports in a time capsule to prevent the distortion of time and tradition in the country from modernization of identity absolute culture of a diverse nation. As a result of good design analysis and concept produce a synthesis of design as a solution to the diversity of traditions to the architecture that is responded to in a complex way addressing technology which is integrated in an architectural work idea that accommodates a variety of equestrian sports activities as a sports facility as well as tourism and education as a node (main magnet) of the city Padang Panjang. It also goes through a number of very long location, temperature and environmental research in the results of the thought of the final project title as an international class Indonesian equestrian sports center in the country.
