Abstract

The use of coal as an energy source is a choice for some entrepreneurs especially in steam powered power plant, because its more cost effective in operations and the source of coal in Indonesia is still abundant. Because a lot of benefits from fly ash and bottom ash extraction is made with acid method KOH and H2SO4 with different concentration for each solution. Hydrometallurgy used in this research, variable differential are used in each solution, alkali solution use one concentration 3M and acid solution use four concentration 4N, 6N, 8N, and 10N. The recovery of silica are 77%, 86%, 14%, and 20% for each concentration. The recovery of silica from bottom ash are 48%, 24%, 20%, dan 12% for each concentration. The result of XRF analysis show the most oxide mineral and elements contain in silica mineral from solid waste extraction are Potassium Oxide (K2O), Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3), Silica (Si¬2O), Al, Si, and K. While the most oxide mineral and elements contain in sample of research are Magnesia Oxide (MgO), Phosphorus Pentaoxide (P2O5), Sulphur Trioxide (SO3), Calsium Oxide (CaO), Hematite (Fe2O3), Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3), Silica (Si¬2O), Mg, Al, Si, P, S, K, Ca, Ti, and Fe. Mineral recovery from fly ash sample is 91,86% and from bottom ash sample is 74,89%.
