Abstract
Market is one of the public places that provides a means community needs, where many people gather and interact. The market c an be the main pathway for the spread and transmission of diseases such as cases of cholera in Amerika Latin, SARS and Bird Flu (Avian Influenza) in Asia. Indralaya Market generally does not meet sanitary requirements such as building conditions, sanitation, clean and healthy living behavior, security, and there is no health services post and P3K. To prevent the spread of diseases that can occur In the market, it is reqired the implementation of environmental sanitation in accordance to Kepmenkes RI No. 519/Menkes/SK/VI/2008. This study aims to analyze the implementation of environmental sanitation in the Indralaya market, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research used descriptive design with qualitative method approach. Information obtained through in-depth interviews and participatory observation with photovoice techniques, observation sheets and documents. Informants in this study were 24 people using purposive sampling technique. Analysis of the data used is analiysis content. Validity test used through triangulation of sources, methods, and data. The result of the study refer to Kepmenkes RI No. 519/Menkes/SK/VI/2008 seen from market locations with a score of 450, buildings 1.090,5, sanitation 1.355, clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) 1.125, security 200, and facilities another 275. Overall assessment from all aspect, Indralya market get score of 4.495,5 which means the Indralaya market is classified as an unhealthy market according to Kepmenkes RI No. 519/Menkes/SK/VI/2008. Indralaya markets managers are advised to tidy up the place of sale by type of merchandise, improve drainage, provide hand washing facilities with soap and running water, separate wet and dry bins, fire extinguishers and evacuation routes, health service posts and P3K.
