Abstract

The role of the health center is very important as a form of primary service strategy to achieve the SDGs 2030 target and minimum services standards (SPM) by providing comprehensive and integrated promotive and preventive services to community in order to achieve the highest degree of health. The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the factors that influence the utilization of health center services in Indonesia. The study is a quantitative study with cross sectional study design and uses secondary data from IFLS in 2014. The sample of this study was 4510 individuals aged ≥ 18 years. The analytical method used is a complex sample with univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. The results showed that the community who used the health center services was 26,9%. Variables significantly related to the utilization of health center services are age, sex, education, occupation, economic status, health perception, areas of residence and insurance ownership. Economic status is the most dominant variable related to the utilization of health center services in Indonesia (p-value= 0,000; PR 2,497; 95% CI: 2,117-2,946). People with very poor economic status have a big influence on the utilization of health care services, therefore to increase the utilization of health care services efforts that need to be done is the health care services need to run a travelling health care services program, as an alternative to facilitate access to health services especially for people with very poor economic status in order to access the service of health care services without financial barriers such as transportation costs.
