Abstract

Azolla pinnata can improve the fertility of the soil, have the ability to produce available nitrogen and rapid growth. This study aims to determine the influence of dose of fertilizer N and P2O5 best in influencing the growth and biomass of A. pinnata on soil media the origin of the lowland swamps. The research was conducted in the Greenhouse and in the Laboratory of Chemical, Biology and Soil Fertility, Department of Soil, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, in the month of December to February 2020. The design used was (RALF) that consists of 2 Factors. The first factor is the dose of fertilizer N consisting of 4 levels, namely U0 (0 mg N kg-1), U1 (23 mg N kg-1), U2 (46 mg N kg-1) U3 (69 mg N kg-1). The second factor dose of fertilizer P2O5 consists of 3 levels, namely P0 (0 mg P2O5 kg-1), P1 (13,8 mg P2O5 kg-1) P2 (27,6 mg P2O5 kg-1). Prepare the planting medium land lowland swamps, filled ground, weighing 4.2 kg/tray. The use of Urea and TSP dose of the appropriate treatment, flooded water as high as 2 cm, A. pinnata weighed as much as 10 g, spread above the tray, the maintenance the height of the water is fixed at 2 cm, if it is reduced then plus the water is free of ions. The observed variable is the growth of the plant Azolla pinnata, the pH of the media A. pinnata, the weight of the biomass fresh A. pinnata and the weight of the dry biomass. The Data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) level of 5%. Fertilizer N and P2O5 and their interaction had significant effect on pH value of medium A. pinnata on Sunday, the beginning, the Provision of fertilizer N and P2O5 as well as the interaction effect is not significantly to the biomass of wet and dry A. pinnata, Treatment 46 mg kg-1 N and 13,8 mg kg-1 P2O5 dealt the population of A. pinnata highest in the soil media the origin of the lowland swamps.
