Abstract
Prolonged labor is one type of labor complications. The WHO data of 2017 shows that childbirth complications accounted for 810 maternal deaths worldwide and the incidence of long term births was 69,000. In data 2017 IDHS prolonged labor to the most reported labor complications of 41% The purpose of this research is to determine the determinants of prolonged labor case in Indonesia. Thi research is using the design of cross sectional, the data used secondary data from the Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) in 2017. Inclusion criteria are women who have given birth to children in the last 5 years and the last child. Analysis of this research data using Complex Sample analysis of Univariate, Bivariate, and multivariate. The samples used are all subjects that meet the criteria of 8.759 respondents. The results of the analysis showed 44.9% of prolonged labor. The results of bivariate analysis, there werw some relationhips between the educational (p-value= 0,044), the parity of 1 child (p-value= <0,0001), the birt distance of the first child (p-value= <0,0001), the early rupture (p-value= < 0,0001), and the labor helper (p-value= 0,045). The most influential factor for prolonged labor based on multivariate analysis was the premature rupture of membrane. The mother who is in the premature rupture of membrane at risk 3,002 times greater is experiencing prolonged labor than the mother who did not experience the premature ruptureof membrane of the range 2,588 to 3,481. Consumption of vitamin C 100mg/day when the pregnancy is more than 20 weeks can strengthen the membranes as well as regular doctor examination to detect earlier problems that may arise that may harm the mother and the bride Keywords : Prolonged Labor, Premature Rupture of Membrane, IDHS Literature : 74 (2002 – 2020)
