Abstract

The purpose of my research is to find out whether there is an influence of box jump training (jump to box) on improving the results of the straight kick pencak silat students at SMP Negeri 37 Palembang. This research method is an experimental method with pretest and posttest one group design population design in this study were students who participated in pencak silat extracurricular activities and the sample in this study amounted to 15 people. The instrument used in this study was the result of a straight kick test. The treatment in this study is jump to box training given for 6 weeks with a frequency of 3 times a week. Based on the results of the calculation of the hypothesis test, then obtained the value of Tcount (13.3) while Ttable (1.77) then Tcount ˃ Ttable Ha can be accepted while Ho is rejected so it can be concluded that the box jump training (jump to box) has an influence on the results of pencak silat straight kicks. The implication of this research is that jump to box training can be used as a form of training on the results of pencak silat straight kicks. Keywords : jump to box, straight kick.
