Abstract

Latar belakang: Gigi impaksi merupakan gigi yang gagal erupsi sepenuhnya ke dalam rongga mulut dan bersifat patologis sehingga memerlukan perawatan. Salah satu perawatan gigi impaksi yang dapat dilakukan adalah odontektomi.Upaya pencegahan yang dapat dilakukan yaitu meningkatkan pengetahuan mengenai gigi impaksi dan tindakan perawatan terhadap gigi impaksi. Metode digital story telling dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan tingkat pengetahuan. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasy experiment dengan desain penelitian one group pretest and posttest design. Penelitian ini melibatkan 100 mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sriwijaya. Pengukuran tingkat pengetahuan odontektomi molar ketiga diukur menggunakan kuisioner berupa googleform sebelum dan sesudah diberikan media digital story telling. Data dianilisis menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon. Hasil: Terdapat peningkatan skor pengetahuan odontektomi molar ketiga sebeesar 20,3 dan nilai Asymp.sig. sebesar 0,000 (Asymp.sig. <0,05) sehingga hipotesis penelitian diterima. Kesimpulan: Digital story telling berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tingkat pengetahuan odontektomi molar ketiga mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sriwijaya.
