Abstract

In the Market there are still many environmental sanitation problems found, one of them is the problem of poor sanitation facilities. Poor sanitation facilities can cause a bad environment. An environment that has poor sanitation can be a factor in the emergence of various diseases that can disturb human health. the purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of the environment in Pasar Km.5 Palembang. The study was a qualitative descriptive study with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observations, and assessment sheets. informants in this study were 23 people who were determined using purposive sampling techniques. Qualitative data analysis is carried out through inductive means, which is to draw general conclusions based on specific observations. The results showed that the availability of facilities and infrastructure such as places of sale, buildings, security that did not meet and there were still variables of facilities and infrastructure that were not available or damaged. In addition, environmental sanitation in the Km.5 market also does not meet. Such as the availability of clean water that is still lacking, the availability of trash boxes that are still lacking, lighting in the toilet is not appropriate, the quality of cleanliness of cutlery that has not met, drainage has not been met, and where hand washing is not available. Therefore it is necessary to repair or increase the number of environmental sanitation facilities and infrastructure in the Km.5 Market to support environmental hygiene and sanitation in the Market.
