Abstract

The mass media in Indonesia has a major influence on the construction of gender, especially those relating to women. This case is a serious problem because the result of gender construction from the media can influence the way the public sees the gender perspective that has been socialized. The purpose of this study was to find out how the framing construction in the notification of a connected mother who killed her husband and step child in the mass media. The theory used in this research is the analysis of framing proposed by Eriyanto. This study uses a qualitative method with a constructionist paradigm, so the data analysis technique is in accordance with the analysis of Zhongdang Pan dan Gerald M. Kosicki framing. The result showed that the framing constructed by Pojoksatu.id caused a stereotype of AK suspects who were considered as injustice in gender.
