Abstract

The soil in Ogan Komering Ilir is mostly dominated by peatlands. Currently, the cultivation of peatlands is very bad, it is resulting a big forest fires in 2015 and 2019. Therefore, we need something to accommodate research and development about peatlands. In the order to improve the ability of peatlands it must be balance between research and development comprehension about the cultivation of peatlands to public and the companies that farming in peatlands. Research center and development of peatlands was designed by contextual approachment and transition of architecture theme. This building divided into some building masses according to functions and its activities. The transition between laboratory masses and support masses confirmed by different formation. Laboratory use modern formation while support masses use contemporary formation. The flow of activity is very affecting laboratory zoning, so the resulting of zoning is the result of existing functional. Extremely utilization of energy is a main focus in research and development facilities, the maximization of sunlight and natural airing must be good calculated, especially in the laboratory area.
