Abstract

The present study was carried out in the Cimanintin and the surrounding areas, Majalengka Regency, West Java. This work focused on the dynamics of the Neogene structure of the Cengal and surrounding areas, Majalengka Regency, West Java. Cengal area is part of Majalengka Sub-Basin which is included as Back Arc Basin. The Majalengka Sub-Basin began to form at the beginning of the Tertiary which belongs to the Bogor Basin. Stratigraphically the research area consists of the Cinambo Formation of Sandstone Members and shalestone members. The structural mapping results in the Cinambo Formation show that the deformation process that develops is a fault related fold with an east-west orientation (WE). This orientation shows that the structure that developed in the study area is included in the Javanese Pattern. Analysis of fold restoration shows that the fold has shortened with a deformation rate ranging from 1.01 - 7.39 mm / year with a rate detachment local at a depth of 0.24 - 1.92 km during the deformation process. The amount of shortening in each fold is not the same, which is affected by the presence of thrust fault. The results of the structural dynamics show that each fold is made using the buckling method to determine the value of the force, stress and strain. The results of the analysis of the calculation of the formula, it was found that the value of the force acting on the Javanese anticline was 35.41N, the anticline cube had a force value of 3.11N, and the cimanintin anticline was 7.09N. Then, the Babakanjawa anticline strain value has a strain (strain) of 40%, the gilt anticline has a strain of 50%, for cengal syncline exposed to a strain of 60% and the cimanintin anticline affected by a strain on the rock layer by 50%. The overall results of the stress value indicate RWd> 1. The results of the structural dynamics analysis show the tectonic direction of transport originating in the South-North (S-N) direction which results in several folds with a stress value of RWd> 1.
