Abstract

This research uses survey method. Land observations were carried out at PT. PP London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk., Muara Rupit, South Sumatra, with a research area of ± 10 ha. In this study 2 samples were taken using peat drills and 2 samples using ring samples representing 1 ha of land. The number of sample points is 20 taken using the Perposive Sampling method. Variables observed in the laboratory are soil physical properties (permeability, bulk density) and soil chemistry (N-Total, available P, K-dd, and C-Organic, pH). T-test results of peat depth (peat and shallow) on physical properties (bulk density and permeability) and soil chemistry (N-Total, P-available, K-dd, C-Organic, and pH) show different results that are not real (> 0.05).
